I heard Christmas Music in the mall

Yes here it is Christmas time in the city, and we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving. It’s November 17, 2009, but December 25th is coming up quick. I would like to say I am organized and have all my shopping done, not. I will have it done December 11th that’s my deadline.

I already know one gift to get for the boys, and one is 22yrs old. Him and my 15 yr. old love to play video games. We have been getting these guys games since they were 8 yrs. old. Then they get old and they trade them or sell them. The 15 yr. old traded off all his old games for money and some other games.

They are currently into the Xbox 360 thing, I guess it can do more things then you can imagine. It doesn’t just play games like the old ones. This thing is like a computer, with a massive hard drive. The hard drive is over 120GB, and an HDMI cable. The other day they were playing and I asked them how they did that. They said they bought a game accessory that would allow them to play with that game.

For a while I thought them playing these games may not be a good idea. But it turned out that it was good. The reason is the whole time my 22yr. old was in middle and high school; I never had to worry where he was. He and his friends were in his room playing video games. We had to put limits on them but other than that it has good knowing that our son was downstairs in his rooms playing games with his friends.

Another Wedding OMG

We have been to (2) 25th wedding anniversary’s and 6 weddings this year. And it’s another wedding! This is a December wedding. You know we went to a wedding this year and it was at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday night. I’m thinking who plans a big occasion like this on a Friday.

Well it really turned out nice, and there were more people than I would have expected. I mean Friday at 6:00 p.m. everyone is getting off work, going to the bank, anyway the crowd was nice, and so was the setting. It was in the back yard (large back yard) with a creek running along side it. The Bride looked pretty, the groom, well he was the groom. We met him the night he met her.

I think my favorite wedding this year was my husband’s cousin’s 25th wedding anniversary. Well there were 2 of them and they were sisters. One was in February and one was in August.  Just the whole reenactment of the vows at the church, all the bride’s maids, and groomsmen was nice. After 25 years to have everyone back with all the same dresses, tuxedos, and shoes they wore 25 years ago was something. The wedding dress was so nice, and to look at the pictures 25 years ago and seeing her at the 25th she looked the same.

Well another one coming up in December, don’t matter what month there in, its always different and I still get excited, like OMG another Wedding!

Attended a Funeral...

We attended a funeral yesterday and didn’t think it would take us a long day. I went to work for a couple hours and picked up my daughter from school and went to the obituary, after the mass done we all followed and drove to the cemetery then went to the funeral reception. By the time I look up; I had to be back at work so do my daughter was out from school already, we still were at the reception. I called my Boss and said that I’m not going in since I have an hour left and time for me clocking out. I didn’t go back to work and came home and got ready to leave again. I went with hubby to pick up and collect the check by 29th Colorado Blvd it was traffic, while hubby driving home I fell to sleep in the car, I was so tired from doing nothing, I slept very early last night and missed my Teleserye show.

The Mall Crawl at home

Its snowing here I mean really snowing! We are buried in 15 inches of it. This is the second snow storm and winter isn’t officially here yet. December 21st is the official date of winter. I need to go to the mall and shop for a gift for my goddaughter. She will be one I haven’t decided what I will get her.

I asked my husband to drive me to the mall because its snowing and I don’t drive in the snow if I don’t have to. He said shop on line, that way you don’t have to drive and you can do comparison shopping with out all the walking and driving. So I took his advice and started looking. (I think the real reason he said that was he is going to watch football.)

I went to a site that has over 250 stores. I was really glad I did it. It had all kinds of different stores that gave me several ideas. One thing I like is the cash back rebates. Its different shopping on your computer because the advertisements and offers are not the same.

I found a gift for my goddaughter and some other things I liked. There was a food warmer on sale, I bought 4 of them. Mine are out dated, and I like the style of these. I won’t say what I got for my goddaughter, because mommy will read this blog and she will know what the gift is. I just will say it was one of two online shopping deals that I got today. Not only did I do the Mall Crawl at home, but saved money twice with a comparison shopping, and reward points on the credit card I used!

NOT A GAME WITH “PACMAN” ITS ALL BUSINESS

We got pay per view with our Direct TV last night and watched the Manny Pacquiao vs  Miguel Cotto fight last night. We were gonna go to Blackhawk, Colorado, and watch it at the Ameristar Casino. That all changed when it began to snow, in what turned out to be a real storm.

It’s still snowing outside and has not stopped since yesterday around 3:30. This is the second storm of the winter, and its not really winter yet! Looking out my back patio door and on the deck my patio furniture is filled with snow. I would say the table has at least 15” on it.

Well back to the fight it was an all of a sudden thing. Me and my husband went to get the bus up to the casinos. Paid our fare, got on the bus, went about a mile, and had to turn back because the canyon where the bus goes thru in the mountains was closed because of ice. So the driver took us back, we got off the bus, got our fare back and came home. We were going to meet some friends up there, called them and told them that we were going to get it at home on pay per view.

Some of our friends braved the snow, and horrible driving conditions to watch the fight with us, on a last minute notice. (Well actually they were on the road on the way to the casino, turned around and came to our house.)What a fight it was, we have watched Manny fight several times and it just gets better and better. He is always so fast and seems like he always lands all his punches. He beat up this Cotto from the 3rd round on. They stopped it in the 12th round, but should have stopped it before that.

It really turned out to be a nice night at home, with all our friends over. It just all came together in an hour or two. We were all expecting to meet up at the casinos, and we all ended up meeting here at our house. Like that song by Elton John says “That’s what friends are for”

Algebra, oh no, help

Our kids went thru school and didn’t have a problem with math until they began algebra. Even then it wasn’t a problem, but then came geometry and the boy had a difficult time with it. We began looking at getting him some math help.

He began doing the after school classes and it just wasn’t helping him as much as he needed. We looked at online math tutoring. This was just what he needed, because he had other activities that he attended after school. He was able to do the online math help at different times of the day and on weekends.

It was really important that he was able to do this after school and on weekends. His football took up a lot of his time. We would never have thought of an online math tutor, but it was his idea. He said one of his friends does it online and likes it. It has really helped our son, and sometimes a 15 year old has the right idea, you just have to listen to him.

What you watching?

What ever you call it the boob tube, the telly, the box, its all television, and everyone needs a provider. We have tried all the cable people, and it never worked out. We went with Direct TV. The cable companies will say they have this and that, but when it comes down to it they don’t match up with DirectTV.

Here are a few reasons we choose them over the other guys. For one I like to watch foreign channels, and the other guys don’t offer the ones I like. My husband likes football and DirectTV has the NFL network all year long on. My husband buys the football package so he can watch any game that is on, not just the ones that are on the local channels.

It just makes sense to deal with a company that is an expert in its field, that’s why we chose Directv over the other guys. You know that customer satisfaction and service will be there when you need it. My husband says during football season his friends always call him during the games and ask “What you watching?”, because he can watch what he wants.

No one likes to talk about it

My husband is always telling me that he wants to make sure that I am okay when he passes away. I always tell him to stop talking like that. But if you think about it, it is a good idea to have insurance to take care of you. We have different types of to cover all the things in everyday life.

The one that is important is a term life insurance policy, it has a cash value. It’s not the only type of insurance, but it is the most widely used insurance policies. Its there if you need it and you will be happy you have it if you need to use it.

An insurance policy that every homeowner should have is mortgage insurance. Ours is worth every penny we pay for it. It means that the house will be paid for should one of us pass on. It’s a good feeling knowing that you have your loved ones set in case something should happen. No one likes to talk about it but you should protect yourself and loved ones.

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice..
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colo
urs...
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

To all my women friends and relatives  just reminding how amazing you all are. Please pass this along the people you think it worth.

Your team and Sports bars

My husband went to our local sports bar last night with some friends to watch the Monday night football game. My husband goes there when he wants to watch a certain game, or a group of guys are gonna watch a game that isn’t on local TV. The sports bar has Direct TV Business, so they get all the channels.

My husband said he wished they had these channels years ago. He would have watched a lot more sports if he had these options.  He said sports bars get different packages with Directv Business. Most commercial businesses where a person is going to be there for a period of time could use good TV.

You can go to a casino, hair salon, bank, coffee shop, most anywhere and you will find some type of Direct TV for Business. It just helps keep a customers mind off the waiting aspect of why they are there in some cases. In bars and casinos the customers are there for entertainment, and television is entertainment.

Establishments like these would be wise to invest in entertainment for their customers with Commercial Direct TV. Your team and sports bars, don’t matter what state your in you can always watch them.

Metal to Plastic

Everything has come a long way from yesteryear, including how we use supply, cooling, and heating lines. We still use metal materials for some of these purposes, but more and more we are changing to machined plastics. By 2025 half of the products that are cooling lines, heat exchangers, or anything that once was metal will be some type of plastic.

There is good reason for this and most smart companies out there know this. You don’t have the corrosions problems with fluoropolymer, and it will last longer than metal products. You probably have used a coil or tubing somewhere and didn’t even realize it.

More and more products are being made from plastic materials, because of it durability, and it non-corrosion factors. Heat exchangers, and coils that were once made out of copper, or aluminum are constantly being replaced with fluoropolymer products. The water fountain you drink out at the office probably has a machined plastic coil in it, to cool the water when it comes out. Plastic is the new material, that is in everything that has to do with products for building or fabricating, its just a fact of life.
