Saving the planet, one step at a time

Everyone from homeowners to hotels, and restaurants are making an effort to conserve and recycle. Most cities have a trash recycle program. Where residents put recycle trash in a separate container. How about ways you can save water?

There are many ways, one of the easiest ways is to change your toilet to a dual flush toilet. People don’t realize how much water this saves in a year. It minimizes your water usage for your toilet by approximately 40-60% depending on your toilet.

This means that people all over would be using half of the amount of water they normally use when they use a dual flush system. It’s easy to install, you don’t need a plumber, or any professional. You can do it yourself.

If you have ever been in a drought, like Denver, Colorado, San Antonio, TX, or Los Angeles, you know about conserving water. Most restaurants don’t serve you water unless you ask. People take water for granted, until they don’t have it. A dual flush system not only save water, but saves you money, and it saves the planet, one step at a time.

Another day……at the spa

I am losing weight (7lbs. and counting), and going to the spa with my hubby. Because he has been a member since 1990 he knows how to use all the equipment, and exercises. (He is my personal trainer, money saver!) He started me out on easy machines, and the treadmill. This week he said I will do more exercises.

Well today he took me upstairs to the free weights, and tried me out on the bench press. I do the bench press on the machine, but free weights are different. I also tried some dumbbell presses on the bench.

He said I need to wait another week or two, and I will be ready to use free weights. He said I don’t really need to use free weights, but just wanted to see where I am at lifting weights. Free weights are harder to lift then the machines.

Before my workout, I always do the bike for around 2 minutes to warm up, and I end with a run on the treadmill for 5 minutes, not to fast, not to slow, just a comfortable run. After that I go to the steam room. Sometimes I will go into the hot tub, or the dry sauna. I really like the steam room, it makes me feel relaxed, makes my skin smooth, and soft. Well talk to all you blog people later……..

Moving to Jersey, got get a place soon

So many people are on the move. It has to do with making the right career move to get you and your family in position to be stable, and secure. Most people making a move to the New Jersey area will undoubtedly need a house.

Going to a New Jersey, is fresh start for most people. Finding a neighborhood that is comfortable takes some doing. A good place to look for up-scale residential real estate is Monmouth County. Peace of mind is always first on consideration when looking for any kind of real estate.

There is a reason why people transferring from their job to the New Jersey area pick a oceanfront luxury condo in this area. They don’t have to be concerned about the crime. It is one of the lowest crime cities in the area. It’s a feeling of comfort for them and their family, knowing the same type of income residents live there.

If you’re looking for residential or commercial retail property, Moumouth County is always on top of the list. It’s a profitable decision to purchase in this area for to many reasons to list. Logistics your minutes from every where, low crime rate, appreciation value, to name a few. If your moving to New Jersey, try Monmouth County.

How’s business, need a lead to get started…..

Ever worked in a telemarketing business? I have its one of the most un-glorified jobs that you can have. Making cold calls and not knowing if they need your services is the wrong approach.

What if you knew that someone needed a financial service? Wouldn’t that be a nice way to introduce yourself, knowing you could help someone with the service you provide? There are several companies that say they have the people that need your service, but it doesn’t turn out like that.

If your in a mortgage business, you need a company where you can gain multiple financial leads. Leads that are sure fire, not a dead end. Some companies advertise with promises that they can get you the right leads.

Not all companies can guarantee, the car loan, car insurance lead is going to be legitimate. You need to be sure that you are spending you money wisely. Check before you make a decision to get a lead. Use the right company, which stands by their word, and guarantees the right leads for you.

Bowling is more fun, now

Well went and picked up my bowling bag yesterday, and ordered my ball. It’s a pink ball with white swirls in it. I had my name engraved, could only use 7 letters so I used my middle name.

Picked up the new ball before me and my hubby went to the bowling alley. I was almost late getting there. Just had enough time to put on my shoes and it was my turn to bowl. I did okay with my new ball. I got the bag for Christmas, and the ball was from my hubby.

I am learning how to use my new ball. I got some coaching from my teammate, and I am doing better. This is my first year of bowling, but it wont be my last now that I have my new ball and bag.

Going up to the hill (casinos) tonight to eat a buffet and play the slots a little. Don’t know if we will stay up there. My hubby has work to do tomorrow, and said he don’t want to stay up there………we will see. Talk to you later…..

Making music together, well maybe……..

Most people take it for granted that once you play an instrument, you can play anything, and with anyone. Playing the piano is one thing but to play accompaniment piano is quite different.

There is that comfort zone that you need when someone is singing. It’s a feeling of what the person wants, and feels good with. Then may need a different type of technique when playing accompaniment piano.

Techniques are different ways you would play the song that the singer wants. Depending on the chords that you are going to play accompaniment piano, will make a big difference in the sound of the music that you make.  Different chords, change the music altogether.

Once you get started and began to accompany on the piano, you will notice that it’s not just playing. You will need to know different chord techniques, which will enable you to give your singer, or yourself a wide variety of music with the same song. Then and only then you can make beautiful music together.

My poor car, hit again!

I have a Montero, and this is the 3rd time it has been in the shop for repairs. Our auto insurance company keeps raising the premium. We are in the process of looking into other options.
Like many of our friends, and actually most people, we have stayed with the same company for years. But in this day and age, and with all the competition out there we decided to look for someone else to carry our car insurance.
We have 5 vehicles that we insure, 2000 Windstar, 2003 Montero ( I need a new car), 2005 Infiniti, 2000 Cadillac, and my hubby’s old 72 Chevy pickup, so we need look at all our options before choosing a company.
Like all types of insurance, it’s good until something goes bad. Choosing a auto insurance company will be a task. We need to look at everything, do they give a military discount, multiple car discount, senior discount, those types of things.
My poor car, its been in the repair shop so many times, hail damage, hit a deer, hit a another car that lost control and went in my lane. I need good car insurance, and one that will understand it’s not my fault; well not all the time.

It’s a party at my friend’s house, special

Got up this morning, went to get breakfast with my hubby and the 3 kids and one of my sons friends that spent the night. Actually it didn’t cost as much as I thought it would for 6 of us.  After that I came back home and cleaned house a little bit. We are gonna try to eliminate everything we don’t need in the house. Our house is so cluttered.

Then I went to my friend’s house for a special party. My friend got married this past summer. I was one of her bridesmaids in the wedding. We all worked together at the Post Office, so everyone knew each other.  Well there was a DVD that was being filmed during the wedding.

So she invited everyone over to view the DVD, and have a party. It was really nice, and always a good time to spend with friends. We have known each other for years. It’s kinda hard to get to her house and I am glad I have my GPS.

When we went to the wedding this past summer, my hubby got lost at night when we left. He didn’t have the GPS and kept driving around until he finally got out of the neighborhood. It was a pain driving and not knowing how to get somewhere. Anyway I got there and back without any trouble, thanks to my GPS.

Nice piece for your home

You ever notice that a really nice complement to a home is a piano? Walk into someone’s home and see a baby grand sitting there.  It expresses value in music, and allows you to comfort your home with the music. Piano lessons pay off when you or your child sit and play to you, company, or just play to themselves.

A piano makes that impression on anyone who should walk into your house. They always ask who plays the piano. Soon after that everyone will gather around the piano to enjoy, and someone will always say, those piano lessons were worth it.

A special time of the year is not necessary to enjoy the piano. It’s the type of instrument that will be used daily. The problem with people that don’t master the piano, is they didn’t have a good teacher with good piano lessons. If they had those two things, everyone would say those piano lessons paid off, huh.

Getting my car fixed

Short day at work today, took off early, had everything done, so I left an hour early. Went with my hubby to run a few errands, he has be taking me to work since Thursday. He took my car to the shop to get it fixed, I was in an accident on Christmas eve, not much damage, just the bumper.

It was about 530pm and the body shop said they have my car ready, so my hubby will pick it up tomorrow. I need to get ready for bowling, haven’t bowled for over 2 weeks. One of our team members said she might not make it. Ask my oldest if he wanted to bowl in her place but, he has to work tonight. Gotta get going talk to all you later.

Sportsman Show

Every January the Sports show that comes thru Denver. My husband has been to so many of these. It knocks him off his feet to see how different all the trade show booths. They are setup with all the wildlife, fishing, and hunting gear.
I guess the thing that amazes my husband is the set up of the displays. He has his own business and is always wondering how they did this or that. He says it amazes him how they set it all up, with the booths, and tables with all the table skirts, with the banners.
Were walking and he says “hey check out those banner stands”.  I’m like what are banner stands? Then he goes on and explains that they are part of display for advertisement, and they are everywhere. He shows me one of an advertisement for a fishing company.
This is stuff you see all the time. I guess the one that got me was the background for the booths, pipe and drape. Makes sense its all pipe then they drape a material over it, and there you have it a background! So next time your at a Sports Show, check out the work that is put into them!

December 25, 2009, CHRISTMAS

Woke up early around 6am, the puppies get us up. I can’t believe how much they have grown. They are around 4 months old. Part of there potty training is up at 6am every morning to go outside. We just love these little pups; they are like 2 little babies.

We got up about 730am and started opening presents. All of us were here except my oldest, he was still at work. He came home around 1100am, and joined in with opening his presents. We all took pictures next to the tree, and with all the pups, and my sons dog. So we have 2 puppies and a 4 year old Bichon Frise.

We all ate, and began to eat all the cookies, fudge, and candies we received from all our friends. Our neighbor, well 2 neighbors across the street gave us some really good stuff. One was banana bread a small loaf (my hubby ate all that), and she also made some really good cookies. The other neighbor made some really, really good fudge brownie carmel nut something. Just really good candy, or brownie, it not a brownie, or a candy, just in between.

It’s around 830pm, and I am gonna go lay down and rest. We are blessed with this nice day, the day of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. It was a simple Christmas, but special because the ones I love so much is here with me (all my kids, and my hubby), that makes me very happy……good nite.

Car problems, where do you go?

It’s always a problem when something isn’t working and you have to get it repaired. I always dreaded taking my TV to get it repaired, now days they last long enough where you can just toss them out and get a new one.

When it comes to a car you can’t just buy a new one. So you need a shop that is good and don’t cost an arm and a leg. Chicago auto repair is one of those places to start looking. When it comes to auto repairs, being a woman I just have to believe what they tell me. I don’t know anything auto mechanics.

I had a Toyota Corolla that was old and had some miles on it but kept repairing it because it was better than making new payments. The last time I repaired it I waited and took a friends advice. It was overheating and he said to put some stuff in the radiator, because it was probably leaking. Not, after it kept leaking, I took it to the repair shop, and it was my water pump. So I learned my lesson, car problems, where do you go? Go to a good shop, with reasonable rates, and quality work. Don’t just ask a friend!
